Some cooler weather clothing

It seems like alot of people have made this pattern with nice results so I thought I would give it a try myself and I liked it so much a made it a couple of times.

This is a simple and quick project to make when you want a some instance gratification sewing. I had the black matt jersey in my stash for a while, so it was perfect for this pattern.

The top is a Jersey knit  that I picked up at Joann's a couple of weeks ago.
For the cardi I made the size medium and the top in a size small. The cardi was very quick to make since I did not hem it. I like how it draped without being hemed and since it is a knit there was no need to hem it.

I also got this lace looking knit at Joann's last week. I love that it has that lace look to it even though it's a knit. The top takes very little fabric just a yard. I made the shorter version of the cardi because I only had 2 yards of fabric to work with. I would like to try the longer version so I can do all the various ways of wearing it.

The brown cardi was a matt jersey that I had gotten from fabric.com it feels alot softer than the fabric I used for the black cardi and it also drapes better.

This stripped top is a cotton blend knit that I had in my stash for a while now. It's great when you get to use up some stash fabric. Honestly, I have a huge stash of fabric that I need to utilize and stop buying fabric to add to the ever growing stash.
This is a great pattern quick with nice results I have worn both sets quick a few time over the past couple of weeks since the weather has been a little cooler in the mornings.
I just finished making a vogue skirt in black sateen so I will post it as soon as I get some pics.
Thanks for stopping by hope you all have a wonderful day.

Crazy Month

Last month was a busy one for my husband and I. My daughter and her two sons have moved in with us and it has been a adjustment for all of us. My sewing area is the dinning room table so having a three year old in the house has made it tough to get much sewing done. It's not a good idea to leave scissors, pins, rotary cutters etc..out on the table for a curious three year old. Since we are hoping that she and the boys will be staying with us for a year or so we have started renovating the basement so she can have a living area with a bedroom and bath room. Hopefully this will give us all a little more space and and breathing room from each other:) It's has been fun having the grand-kids living here with us. My 6 year old grandson wanted me to teach him how to knit. So I got out the largest knitting needles I could find and showed him how to knit a few stitches. After we knit a couple of  rows together he asked if we were almost finished knitting his scarf  LOL. I think knitting may be a little to slow for him. Maybe we will move on to sewing next.

I'm slowly getting back into sewing a few wardrobe basics ( cardi's and knit tops) I have also been enjoying do a little beading. It fulfills my need to be crafty.
A few pics for you below.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
