Summer Skirt

New Look 6594

In the past I have never been one for wearing dresses and skirts but now that I have learned how to sew I can't resist all of the pretty summer fabric and cute dress and skirt patterns that are out there. So this year I'm wearing more dresses and skirts and loving it.....even if I don't have the best shaped legs (that's why I never wore skirts in the past). I guess with age we get over silly thinking like that.....anyway here's the review.

Pattern Description:

Misses Skirts.

Pattern Sizing:

misses 8-18 I made the size twelve.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes it does

Were the instructions easy to follow?

They where very easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I was looking for a skirt pattern that was cute and casual without alot of gathers around the hips (my hips do not need any extra width:)This one fit the bill with the wide waistband that sits on the hips..gives more of a slimming effect I think.

Fabric Used:

Some kind of poly that I picked up on the Red Tag table at Joann-fabrics. Really liked that it had the cute flowers with the black border on the bottom of the fabric.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

No changes make. I sewed a size twelve straight out of the envelope.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

I have some more fabric to make another one...so yes I would sew it again. I highly recommend it to others.

Conclusion:

Cute summer skirt that I'm sure I will get alot of wear out of this year.

Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?

I found the instructions very easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

Using a knit and how quick the pattern comes together.

Fabric Used:

ITY Jersey. I bought this fabric last year at fabric.com

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

I may sew one more and would highly recommend it to others.

Conclusion:

This is a great pattern that delivers great results in just a few hours of sewing. If you need a dress to wear out to a last minute event this one is it. Supper fast with great results.

Here it is with the McCalls jacket that I made last year. I love the hot pink and black together. I was not sure if I would like the style of this dress on me. I thought if I don't like it on me I can give it to my daughter but I think I will keep it for myself.
